Introduction

Orkovia is a BPMN-based workflow automation and orchestration platform. It lets teams model a process, connect automated work and human work, deploy the process, run instances, monitor execution, and improve the process from operational feedback.

A single Orkovia process can coordinate a wide range of work:

• Automated service work and REST/API integrations
• Background workers written in Java, Python or Node.js
• Human approvals and tasks, routed through Inbox
• Process variables carrying structured business data
• Business decisions and execution history
• Incidents and operational recovery
• Monitoring, analytics, and test/simulation workflows

The core model

Orkovia separates the visual process definition from the runtime execution layer. A BPMN model describes what should happen, while the Orkovia engine is responsible for executing that process.

Platform map

The Orkovia UI (Modeler, Monitor, Inbox, Insights) talks to the Orkovia API, which drives the workflow engine. The engine hands automated work to worker applications and human work to people through Inbox.
